I'm coming up on my seven year anniversary. I've witnessed big changes throughout DA in that time. I've been active and inactive, (had my share of DDs) but always came back to this unique forum and outlet for the artist. Over time though, DeviantART seems to have moved away from its pure art origins. Take a look at the dominant work that gets all the attention -- ubiquitous over abundance of self indulgent uninspired repetitious cliches of soft kitties, over processed soft core porn, high overhead equipment intense windy hair glam fashion, adolescent manga and adolescent bloody tongues and bloody wrists and bloody boobs etc. I don't have the time to wade through all these images to find the rare inspiring work of art. The discovery and display of the daily deviation used to help with that process, but now even that seems to have fallen to the same collective elevation of the mediocre.

On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

my monitor has a funky purple shift from left to right -- and anything white has a shadow-like purple band running across the screen. can't color balance anything now..............
